As the principal of Thayer Prescott, I want to thank you for stopping by.
A little bit about me: I was raised in a small coastal town on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and I am a graduate of Wofford College, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where I received my B.A. in History and played on the Men's Tennis Team for three years. I was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant of Infantry under the U.S. Army's Early Commissioning Program during my junior year of college. I served ten years on active duty in overseas assignments in Germany with the 3rd Infantry Division and 1st Armored Division. I was selected ahead of my peers by two brigade commanders to serve as a company commander twice. My awards and decorations include the Bronze Star and Combat Infantryman Badge.
I was a senior partner with the Lucas Group's (now part of Korn Ferry) Military Division in Dallas, Texas for five years where I developed successful partnerships with Fortune 500 clients as well as emerging growth companies in technology and management consulting.
For four years, I served as a management consultant with the MPRI division of L-3 Communications providing onsite management services to the Regional Director of the U.S. Army's Installation Management Command-Europe in Heidelberg, Germany.
I also previously served as the National Director of Warriors to Work® at Wounded Warrior Project where I led a team of 35 amazing men and women located in 17 offices nationwide. I managed a budget of $10M of which I returned $2M to the CFO after my management team developed and implemented cost savings initiatives for our program's national hiring events with employers. In FY'14, our team placed over 2,000 WWP Alumni into meaningful career opportunities and achieved a 122% of assigned program KPI in Alumni placements.
All in all, I have over twenty years' experience in the recruitment and placement of transitioning military-to-civilian men and women of the Armed Forces and of all ranks and branches of service. For three years, I served as a panel member and guest speaker for the U.S. Army's General Officer Managment Office, through a partnership with the Peter F. Drucker Institute for Nonprofit Management, where I advised retiring General Officers preparing for civilian life.
My wife, Barbara, and I reside in Frisco, Texas with our 3-year-old Boston Terrier, Papi. We do enjoy travel to New England and Europe to visit family and dear friends. I am a lifelong member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and currently serve as the Adjutant of the CPL Robert Ray Brown VFW Post 8273 in Frisco, Texas.
As I offer my services to you and your organization, I am available for part-time remote consulting to assist your leadership team and HR team in developing successful recruitment strategies for hiring military/veteran talent for your organization. I look forward to advising you and your team soon.
Kind regards,
Alex
